About Dr. Timothy Douglass

Dr. Timothy D. Douglass graduated from Springfield College, Springfield, MA in 1987, with a Bachelor of Science degree, with concentrations in nutrition and chemistry. Springfield College (birthplace of basketball) started off as a YMCA and has grown into an internationally respected school for health fitness and physical education. Its' logo is an equilateral triangle with Spirit, Mind, and Body representing its' sides. It was at Springfield where Dr. Douglass gained much of his interest and training in the health fitness programs he now uses in his modern chiropractic approach.

Dr. Douglass graduated in 1991 with honors in research from Palmer College of Chiropractic College in Davenport, IA. It was at Palmer, the oldest and most respected Chiropractic school in the world, where he was trained in classical Chiropractic. Palmer has more than fifty countries represented in its student enrollment and brings an international body of scientific research in alternatives to medicine. While at Palmer, Dr. Douglass was selected to perform advanced studies in the area of cranial dissection and neuroanatomy. Dr. Douglass taught Applied Kinesiology (the study of the muscular system as it relates to human biomechanics and organ systems of the body ) under the guidance of Dr. George Goodheart, founder of the International College of Applied Kinesiology.

During his research at Palmer, Dr. Douglass studied and later taught soft tissue orthopedics with its founder. Dr. M. L. Reece, to the students at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Reece was recognized world wide for his advances in Chiropractic soft tissue procedures, as it relates to the musculoskeletal system, and overall health potential.

Dr. Douglass completed his internship program with Dr. Roy Sweat in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Sweat is the inventor of the Atlas Orthogonal percussion instrument, a device used to realign the spine very gently that doesn't require any of the traditional "cracking or popping" which can be difficult for some patients. .

Upon graduation, Dr. Douglass came to Meredith, NH to join Dr. David McCarthy, founder and president of Interlakes Chiropractic Center. This clinic soon became a multi-professional clinic offering chiropractic and medical treatments as well as physical therapy, massage therapy and nutritional counseling. Dr. Douglass was director in charge of the chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, and nutrition departments.

In the fall of 1995, Dr. Douglass moved his family to the Mt. Washington Valley to start his own private practice. He now utilizes the training and expertise that these and many not mentioned here have graciously shared. It is this experience he brings to you and your family.

Dr. Douglass has been in private practice since 1995 serving the Mt. Washington Valley. He continues his search for improvements to our health care system and teaches lay lectures on health , healing and human potential.

MISSION STATEMENT: To ease the pain and suffering of human life and to help people recover their strength naturally without the use of medication and surgery. To help patients unlock their own innate potential and experience life to its' fullest.

" I first became interested in preventative medicine and human performance after a serious car accident. I was grateful for the pain numbing medications but I soon realized it was only a temporary solution to my injuries and health in general. My interest at the time was nutrition and health fitness so it made sense to me to take vitamin supplements and exercise to recover. I soon became discouraged. I would hurt worse after physical therapy exercises and I felt twisted and tied up in knots, both physically and emotionally.

While working part time in a health food store, I was introduced to a chiropractor. I thought he was weird. I had been taught that chiropractors are quacks! I had nothing to lose, I was desperate. I soon found out that I had been misinformed. I learned about how our bodies are supposed to heal from the inside out, not the outside in. The medicine and physical therapy exercises, although a benefit, sought to relieve the symptoms. I wanted to really get healthy and strong again and I did , through natural chiropractic education, chiropractic care, and maintenance chiropractic. "
